These are fun.

Those look like the Andrew Loomis stick figures if I am not mistaken. I need to practice those more.

Yeah, they're Loomis sticks. Working my way through the book right now. I love it. I'm trying to find a copy of Fun With a Pencil, but I may just have to settle for printing out a PDF copy. Why his books are out of print is beyond me.

Nice to see that you're sticking with it. Har har. I printed out a copy of Fun with a Pencil. It seems less like work, when compared to the other books, where a more realistic approach is used.

Huh. Sold. I love Figure Drawing, but it's not a ton of fun. Plus, his section on heads in FD is just a summary of what's in FWAP, apparently. Dave's got a copy of the PDF of Fun with a Pencil. When he gets back from Vegas, I'll have to get it from him and print it out. Thanks!

I have PDFs of all the books. The first loomis book I bought was Fun With a Pencil. I love the old "politically incorrect" drawings in it, like the African native looking quizzically at a toothbrush, or the Eskimo.

Huh. Yeah, some of his commentary in Figure Drawing really shows the sexism of the time -- kind of reminds me of watching Mad Men, in a way. I try not to judge people for being products of the time they live in, though.
