Drawing Time —

First up: a lion in crayon, from drawing time with my son. It's the best thing I've ever drawn in my whole life.

Next up, some pages of heads, inked with a Pentel Sign Pen and Brush Pen and shaded with neutral gray Copics. For the first two heads, I tried to skip even a rough pencilling stage and to sketch directly in ink, with disastrous results. The fifth head down was a similar attempt to sketch with Copics, which I think turned out pretty well.
The Copics are great but the paper in my sketchbook can't stand up to them, so I bought some marker paper and had better results (and less waste from markers bleeding through to underlying pages).
And here's some recent studies.
That's it!

Nice trapezius rendering.
Thanks! What's a trapezius?
That diamond-shaped muscle in the centre of your back.
Do you ever wish you could draw this well back in the comic-drawing days of the Gateway? I'd like to take quite a few back and I've barely improved.
Ha. Yeah, I know what the traps are. Was joke. And yeah, man -- I am so utterly ashamed of what a terrible artist I was back then. Your stuff has always been pure gold, though.
DAMMIT I knew you were joking, but then I thought, what kind of joke was that?
Thanks for making me sound like a knob.
